Plan on roughly 6–8 balls for a baby blanket of about 70 × 80 cm. Bulky blankets of that size usually take 450–600 m, and each 50 g ball holds 75 m, so 450–600 m ÷ 75 m gives 6–8 balls. Bobble and textured stitches use more yarn, so round up for those.
