Is Gazzal Super Kid Mohair itchy?

Most knitters find it soft, as it uses fine super kid mohair blended with 31% merino rather than coarser adult mohair. Any mohair can tickle very sensitive skin, though. Held together with a smooth base yarn, the halo sits on the surface and usually feels gentler than mohair knitted on its own, so swatch both ways and test against your neck.

How many balls of Gazzal Super Kid Mohair for a sweater?

Usually 5–6 balls for an adult sweater in size M held together with another yarn. You use about as many metres of mohair as of the main yarn, typically 1,000–1,400 m, and each 25 g ball holds 237 m, so 1,000–1,400 m ÷ 237 m gives 5–6 balls. Knitted alone, a lace shawl of 400–700 m needs 2–3 balls.

Gazzal Super Kid Mohair vs DROPS Kid-Silk: what is the difference?

Both are lace-weight mohair yarns used mostly as a carry-along strand; the companion fibre is what differs. Gazzal Super Kid Mohair blends mohair with 31% merino and 22% polyamide at 237 m per 25 g. DROPS Kid-Silk pairs 75% mohair with 25% silk at 210 m per 25 g, giving a soft sheen. Gazzal's goes a little further per ball.

Can you crochet with Gazzal Super Kid Mohair?

Yes, though it is easiest held together with a smooth yarn, because a single fuzzy strand makes stitches hard to see. Crocheted alone, go up from the label's 2–3 mm to around 4–5 mm and use open stitches such as mesh or shells, so the halo can fill the spaces and the fabric stays light.
