    Why choose Crochet Hook?
    • Soft-Grip Everyday Hook: Vilrita's own crochet hook sets a metal hook into a soft, molded handle, in twelve sizes from 2 mm for fine cotton amigurumi up to 10 mm for super bulky chenille and blanket yarn.
    • Easier on Your Hand: A thin metal shaft makes you grip harder, and that is what tires a hand over a long session. The fuller handle lets your fingers relax through long amigurumi rounds or a blanket worked over several evenings.
    • Buy Only Your Size: Sold one size at a time, so you can match the hook to your yarn label or replace a lost 3.5 mm. Sizes 2–4 mm suit toys and granny squares; 7–10 mm suits chenille and quick blankets.
    Description

Crochet Hook – Comfortable Soft-Grip Hook from 2 to 10 mm

Our crochet hook is an everyday tool that makes long crochet sessions easier on your hand. The smooth metal head glides through the stitches without snagging the yarn, while the soft, ergonomic handle sits comfortably between your fingers. Sizes run from a fine 2 mm for amigurumi and lace up to a chunky 10 mm for thick yarns, blankets and bags – the size is printed right on the handle, so you always know which hook you're holding.

💡 Tip: Not sure which size to choose? Check the yarn label – it always lists the recommended hook. For neat, tight amigurumi stitches, go 0.5 mm smaller than recommended, for example a 2–2.5 mm hook with Gazzal Baby Cotton.

Why do crocheters like this hook?

    • Smooth Glide: The polished metal head slips through loops easily and doesn't split the yarn.
    • Comfortable Grip: The soft handle gives your fingers a place to rest and reduces strain during longer projects.
    • Easy to Identify: The size marking on the handle means no more guessing when all your hooks are in one pouch.

    TIPS & TRICKS

Pro Tip: For amigurumi, work at the small end of the label range or below. Gazzal Baby Cotton is labeled 2–3 mm; a 2 or 2.5 mm hook gives the tight single crochet that keeps stuffing from showing between stitches.

    About Product

What size Vilrita crochet hook should a beginner start with?

A 5 mm hook is the usual first choice, paired with a smooth, light-coloured medium-weight yarn so every stitch is easy to see and count. YarnArt Jeans Plus is labelled for a 5 mm hook and works well for practice squares. Once your stitches look even, move to whatever size the label of your next yarn recommends.

How do Vilrita crochet hook sizes convert to US letter sizes?

The hooks are sized in millimetres, and the standard US equivalents are 3.5 mm = E-4, 4 mm = G-6, 5 mm = H-8, 6 mm = J-10, 8 mm = L-11 and 10 mm = N/P-15. Small sizes such as 2 mm and 3 mm have no exact US letter, so go by the millimetre figure in your pattern or on the yarn label.

My gauge doesn't match the pattern, which hook size should I switch to?

Change the hook, not your hand tension. If your swatch has more stitches per 10 cm than the pattern, go up 0.5 mm; if it has fewer, go down 0.5 mm, then swatch again. Wash and dry the swatch the way you will treat the finished piece before measuring, since many yarns relax after their first wash.
